Listen To Your Parents

Have your parents or grandparents ever told you not to shower or bathe during a lighting storm? I know mine have. As bizarre as it may sound, they were right.
The claim that taking a shower during a lightning storm can electrocute you is no old wives' tale, experts say. The National Weather Service urges the public to avoid hopping in the shower during a lightning storm in the event that a bolt strikes one of your home's water pipes and electrifies your bathroom.
According to the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), an average of 80 people every year are killed by lightning, and hundreds more are severely injured. Many times these injuries are due to misinformation.
